Christina Fay Miller was born in Ceduna, South Australia on 8 April 1947. Fay completed her
HSC at Ceduna Area School in 1962 and began working for Savings Bank of SA in 1963.
She married in 1965, moved to Adelaide and worked in local Government for 4 years until she had 2 daughters and became a full time Mother for 5 years.

Moving to a country property near Adelaide Fay returned to the workforce with the Education Department of SA as a full time office assistant for 12 years. During that time she was a volunteer ambulance officer for 12 years, an accredited first aid lecturer, caterer, school bus driver, accredited netball umpire and volunteer support worker on the many committees that come with being a parent.

In 1989 Fay’s husband was transferred to Katherine as the ANZ Bank manager. Fay worked
as an office manager for a construction company for 5 years before she and her husband
purchased a tourist park which they operated for 10.5 years. During this time she was on the Executive of the Katherine Region Tourist Association for 9 years, 4 of which she was
Chairman and 1 vice-Chairman and was Vice-Chairman of Tourism Training NT. It was also
during this time that the Katherine Region Tourist Association won 4 consecutive Brolga
Awards for Outstanding Tourist Association , an outstanding employee award, experienced
the Katherine flood of 1998 and built a new Visitor Information Centre.

Fay was elected as an Alderman to Katherine Town Council in 2001 until her election to MLA
for Katherine in a by-election in October 2003. She held the Shadow portfolios of Tourism,
Primary Industries and Fisheries, Communications, Youth, Corporate & Information
Services.

Following the 2005 elections, Fay was elected as the Deputy Leader of the Opposition on 24
June. She also holds the Shadow portfolios of Tourism, Mines & Energy, Primary Industries
& Fisheries, Senior Territorians, Regional Development, Natural Resources, Environment &
Heritage, Transport & Infrastructure.

Fay is a member of the Substance Abuse Select Committee, House Committee, Legal &
Constitutional Affairs Committee, Subordinate Legislation & Tabled Papers Committee,
Sessional Environment & Sustainability Committee, Standing Orders Committee and
Sessional Committee on Youth & Sport.

Fay’s current memberships include: Katherine Region Tourist Association; Katherine Country Music Muster; Chamber of Commerce; Women’s Beef Steak & Burgundy; NT Horticultural Association; Katherine Show Society; Neighbourhood Watch; and National Trust of Australia (NT).

Fay is patron of Australian Football League in Katherine and a strong supporter of the Under
16 Youth Competition. She is also sponsor of the Offroad Motorcycle Quad bikes.

Fay’s personal interests are her grandchildren, her Labrador dogs, music, gardening, art and relaxing by the ocean. Fay and her husband Mike have been sponsors of 2 children through World Vision for 10 years and the training of 2 Guide dogs for 3 years.

Fay’s Electorate Office is located in Katherine Terrace, Katherine.
