After 13 successful years serving the people of Alice Springs as Mayor, Damien Ryan is committing his experience, energy and passion to represent the people of Lingiari.
Damien, is a born and bred Territorian, who lives in Alice Springs with his wife and three daughters.
His strong business foundations were forged through ownership of a group of photographic organisations for 30 years.
His values are underpinned by a life of community service and representing the people of the Northern Territory with pride and honor. He aligns with the views of his community, working with integrity and honesty to ensure positive outcomes and visions are achieved.
During his time in local government, through his numerous positions on Territory and Australian Boards and Committees, Damien has been involved with remote communities and townships across the Lingiari electorate from Docker River to Booroloola, Gapuwiyak to Wadeye.
This has allowed him to gain first-hand knowledge into the lives of people in remote communities and towns across the NT. Through listening and engaging with community members and leaders he has gained a comprehensive understanding of the issues and insight into the challenges faced by remote and regional communities.
Damien is committed to fighting for Lingiari to ensure that the Northern Territory continues to receive funding to build infrastructure needed to grow our Pastoral Industry, Agriculture, Mining and Tourism.
Damien believes that roads are the lifeline to get product to market and road funding is vital to the growth of the Territory. Lingiari’s roads are a conduit to building strong resilient communities
He has a strong alignment with the conservative values of the Country Liberal Party of the Northern Territory, including individualism, private enterprise and progressive policies that reward effort.
Damien is committed to advocating for the people of Lingiari and will be a strong, experienced voice in Canberra.
