Laurie has had enough of watching the Territory be dragged backwards. She has put up her hand to make a change and be part of the solution.
Having moved to the Territory as a teenager with her family who pursued employment opportunities in Alice Springs, she knows firsthand that the Territory can be better.
Laurie has worked across the NT in the Education sector since 2008 and prides herself on supporting and responding directly to school’s needs. She also has a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration.
Laurie’s husband of 22 years is a serving police officer, and they have 3 children. She has every reason to stand up for the place she loves and is focused on fighting for safer streets, a quality education for our kids and successful long-term economic growth.
“I have put up my hand because the people of the Fannie Bay electorate deserve someone who is responsive to the community’s needs and accountable for their actions.
My background in education means I understand the pressures being put on our schools and how important it is for them to be a safe and engaging environment.
When I moved to the Territory as a 14-year-old, the NT was the place of opportunity, fun, freedom, mystery and beauty. It’s sad to say that the NT is no longer the place I remember, but I know that it can once again get back to that.”
